Bluetooth FAQs

How do I pair my phone to Bluetooth in my Mercedes-Benz?

Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and keep its Bluetooth screen open. On the Mercedes-Benz screen, select Phone, then Connect New Device and Start Search on System. Choose your phone from the list, confirm that the code matches on both screens, and allow contact access when your phone asks.

Why can't my phone find my Mercedes-Benz when I pair it?

Your phone has to be visible to the Mercedes-Benz during the whole pairing process. Keep your phone unlocked on its Bluetooth screen, turn Bluetooth off and back on, and restart your phone and your Mercedes-Benz. If it still doesn't show up, delete the old pairing on both devices and try again.

Why does my Mercedes-Benz show a code when I pair my phone?

The code confirms that your phone and your Mercedes-Benz are pairing with each other. Check that the code on the infotainment screen matches the code on your phone, then confirm on your phone. If the codes don't match, cancel and start the pairing steps over.

How many phones can I pair to my Mercedes-Benz?

You can pair more than one phone, but only one phone is active for calls at a time. To switch, open the connected devices list on the screen and connect the phone you want.

How do I delete a phone from my Mercedes-Benz?

Open the connected devices list on the Mercedes-Benz screen (Phone > Connect Device), select your phone and remove it. Then remove your Mercedes-Benz from your phone's Bluetooth list so the two forget each other.

Why don't my contacts show up in my Mercedes-Benz?

Your phone has to share your contacts with your Mercedes-Benz. When your phone asks during pairing, allow access to your contacts and messages. If you missed the prompt, open your phone's Bluetooth settings for your Mercedes-Benz, turn on contact sharing and reconnect.

Why does my phone work for calls but not for music in my Mercedes-Benz?

Calls and music use separate Bluetooth permissions. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings for your Mercedes-Benz and make sure phone calls and media audio are both turned on, then reconnect. On your Mercedes-Benz, also check that the media source is set to Bluetooth audio.

Do I need Bluetooth for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto in my Mercedes-Benz?

Wired CarPlay and Android Auto connect with a USB cable. Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto start with a Bluetooth pairing on models that support them. Pairing over Bluetooth also gives you hands-free calling and music without CarPlay or Android Auto.
